“Rossellini was up at the first light of dawn.  Anna Magnani, on the other hand, used to get up at two in the afternoon so that when she was on the scene working hours were very limited.”
This is recounted by Aldo Tonti, cameraman of the film “L’Amore”. The second episode “Il Miracolo” (The Miracle) was filmed at the end of the ‘40s, on the Amalfi Coast, between Maiori and Furore.
For the two lovers, Roberto and Nannarella (Anna), the pleasure of being at table was in the evening for dinner.  They often left their love nest at dusk, (they lived in a tiny monazzeno dwelling in the Fiordo, jokingly called the “crooked woman’s villa” in reference to Anna’s legs), in order to reach Bacco, the only trattoria in the town.  They used to sit at a table under the trellis and order the usual chicken in white wine sauce.  Thus the chicken, in less than half an hour, would leave the chicken hutch for the table.  Just enough time to taste the first dish between a caress and a kiss.
Nannarella was crazy about Neapolitan cooking, flavours with the sun in them, pasta with “pummarola ‘ncoppa” (tomato on top), vermicielli pasta with “fled fish” sauce, which tastes of the sea even there is no fish in it. Then orecchiette, fusilli, ferrazzuoli all home-made pasta cooked by  Donna Letizia, with piennolo tomatoes, perfumed with dried grapes, pinenuts and rocket.  
At the centre of the table, was the straw-covered flask with the tasty red wine of Furore which was transformed into an infallible weapon of seduction on the set of “L’Amore”.  Federico Fellini, actor for the first and last time, a solitary, silent traveller who bumps into Mariuccia-Nannarella.  The poor crazy girl takes him for Saint Joseph.  The false Saint takes the flask out of his sack.  A few sips of Furore red are enough to perform the “miracle”.
Many years have passed since them.  The Furoresi, drunken with sunlight, still live balanced on this sheer cliff on the sea and thus … the miracle continues
